March 17, 2021 – Music Biz Member DistroKid Adds Distribution to Snapchat
Earlier this month, digital music distributor DistroKid announced that it would add Snapchat to its list of platforms could upload their music to. This opens up DistroKid’s artists up to a new audience of 245 million users, who send roughly 5 billion “snaps” a day. Music can be accessed on the platform via the new “Sounds on Snapchat” feature, which the company recently added so users could include clips of licensed music to their posts. March 16, 2021 – Music Biz Member Amazon Music Begins Integrating In-App Music Product Sales

Apple Music has launched “Behind the Songs,” a new portal dedicated to highlighting songwriters, producers, session musicians and the songs they have contributed to via the platform’s key playlist brands. The portal also allows songwriters and publishers to participate in regularly updated editorial features & promotions with Apple Music and its subscribers. March 10, 2021 – Music Biz Member Vydia Partners With Royalty Exchange For Indie Artist & Label Advances
Digital distribution company Vydia has announced a new partnership with Royalty Exchange, which will now serve as the platform by which indie artists and labels using Vydia can use to request advances. This move allows creatives to retain the rights to their music, as well as completely control the borrowing and repayment terms of their advance. Royalty Exchange then lists the request on their marketplace where investors can bid on funding the advance, thus potentially increasing how much money the artist/label may see from the investment....
