August 31, 2022 – Music Biz Member Warner Records Promotes Sean Stevens To VP, A&R And Head Of Research & Analytics

Warner Records has named Sean Stevens as the company’s new VP, A&R and Head of Research & Analytics. Since joining the company in 2018, Stevens has added multiple talented artists to the company’s roster, including Teddy Swims, Ricky Montgomery and Ezekiel. August 31, 2022 – Music Biz Member YouTube Launches Dedicated Podcast Page

YouTube has been testing a new page dedicated to podcasts. The launch is currently available to users located in the U.S., and includes channels such as The H3 Podcast, The 85 South Comedy Show and TigerBelly. August 29, 2022 – Music Biz Member HitPiece Relaunches Brand With Partnered Artists

HitPiece has announced an official relaunch of its music NFT marketplace, as well as its official partnership with artists who will sell digital collections on their platform. Verified artists, known as creators, will fully control ownership of their NFTs, including whether they are sold in USD or cryptocurrency. August 29, 2022 – Music Biz Member ONErpm Names Allison Hamamura General Manager 

ONErpm has named Allison Hamamura as the company’s new General Manager. In her new role, she will support the company’s artist services and development growth. She will also oversee the Los Angeles office, and report directly to the company’s founder and CEO, Emmanuel Zunz. August 26, 2022 – Music Biz Member Sony Music Publishing Opens Nigeria Office With Godwin Tom As Managing Director

Sony Music Publishing has announced its expansion into Africa with new offices opening in Lagos, Nigeria. Godwin Tom will lead this new division, as he will focus on expanding Sony’s global reach while also supporting the label’s roster of songwriters and composers in the region. August 26, 2022 – Music Biz Member Warner Records Inks Global Joint Venture With Lee Daniels Music

Warner Records has announced a joint venture with American film director, Lee Daniels. This new strategic partnership will include recorded music projects such as soundtracks, as well as the signing of new artists. The Oscar-winner released the soundtrack for “The United States vs. Billie Holiday” as its first project with the label. Next-generation music company, SoundCloud has expanded its ad sales contract with global digital advertising platform, DAX. August 25, 2022 – Music Biz Member Vevo Partners With TelevisaUnivision To Launch Live Streaming Latin-Genre Music On ViX

Vevo has announced a new partnership with leading Spanish-language media company, TelevisaUnivision, to launch live Latin-genre music videos on the streaming service, ViX. Per the new partnership, Vevo is developing two additional FAST channels exclusively for ViX: “Vevo Regional Mexican,” which features artists such as Calibre 50 and Los Ángeles Azules, and “Vevo Íconos Latinos,” which features artists such as Celia Cruz and Selena.
