September 14, 2022 – Music Biz Member FUGA Announces New Partnerships With Odyssey Music Network And Phat Penguin

FUGA has announced two new global partnerships with Berlin-based artist management & label service agency, Odyssey Music Network and Vienna-based label & management company, Phat Penguin. As per the terms of the deal, the company will provide digital and physical distribution for Odyssey’s roster, and marketing strategies, account management and digital distribution for Phat Penguin. September 13, 2022 – Music Biz Member DistroKid Debuts New Spotify Canvas Generator Tool

Independent music distributor, DistroKid has launched Spotify Canvas Generator, a new free tool that will allow its users to select from various videos to create clips to accompany their songs on Spotify’s platform. September 12, 2022 – Music Biz Member Linkfire Launches New Bio Link Product

Smart-linking platform, Linkfire has launched its next-generation bio link, making it available now to all Linkfire users. The new link was designed to enhance how users market their music on their social channels, allowing artists to customize their landing page with various color schemes, images, and background effects. September 12, 2022 – Music Biz Member The Mechanical Licensing Collective Launches New Student Ambassador Program

The Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) has launched a new Student Ambassador program, open to all students enrolled in college or university courses. Qualified students will be tasked with spreading the word about The MLC and the importance of registering their works to songwriters, composers and lyricists in their communities. September 8, 2022 – Music Biz Member FanLabel Officially Launches App, New “Song Signing” Feature

After a successful pre-launch during the summer, the fantasy-meets-music experience app from FanLabel has officially launched for Android and Apple devices. This new app allows users to “sign” a roster of hit songs, akin to a fantasy football team. Throughout each four-week season, users will need to use real-life strategies to manage, promote and sign new tracks to their roster and earn as many plays as possible, based on streaming metrics provided by Luminate. Apple has launched a new app, Platoon for Artists, that allows artists to create, promote and manage stats for their song releases. The app was originally founded in 2016 by Denzyl Feigelson and Saul Klien and was acquired by Apple in 2018. September 1, 2022 – Music Biz Member Shazam Surpasses 70 Billion Song Recognitions

Shazam has announced it surpassed 70 billion song recognitions earlier this month. This comes as its parent company, Apple has released timeline milestones in celebration of Shazam’s 20th anniversary. Key data points from the company reveal Drake as the most Shazamed artist of all time with more than 350 million Shazams, and “Butter” by BTS as the fastest song to reach 1 million Shazams.
