Capitol Music Group (CMG) has named A&R executive Orlando Wharton to an EVP role for the label. In addition, Wharton will serve as President of the Priority Records label, as the company looks to relaunch it as a platform to support Hip-Hop artists at all stages of their careers. Warner Music UK has announced that Charlotte Saxe will serve as the company’s SVP, Legal & Business Affairs, effective October 3. This new role will see her leading Warner Music UK’s legal and business affairs team, and she will report to Warner Music UK CEO, Tony Harlow. Warner Music Group has announced that Robert Kyncl will serve as the company’s next CEO. Kyncl and outgoing CEO, Steve Cooper will serve as joint CEOs for the month of January 2023, and Kyncl will take the helm by himself effective February 1. September 26, 2022 – Music Biz Member YouTube Launches “Creator Music” Licensing Hub
Online video platform, YouTube has debuted a beta version of its new “Creator Music” hub in the U.S., allowing content creators on the platform to buy licenses for music used in their videos. The company touts the move as one that opens a new revenue streams for artists, and that video creators will keep the share of revenue they would usually make on videos without any music.
