March 3, 2017 – [IN THE NEWS] U.S. retailers predict Ed Sheeran’s ÷ to be “massive”
U.S. retailers are preparing for what will likely be the biggest music sales week of the year so far thanks to the release of Ed Sheeran’s new album ÷ (Divide) on March 3. With the song Shape Of You riding atop Billboard’s Hot 100 Singles chart, retailers expect the new album to be No.1 in the Top 200 Albums chart by the end of next week. Click here to read more.... Music Biz Presient James Donio released the following statement regarding the recent passing of Bob Higgins: Music Biz is extremely saddened to learn of the passing of former Trans World Entertainment CEO Bob Higgins. Bob was a long-time and very supportive Association member and a legendary music and entertainment retail pioneer. Bob received our Presidential Award for Sustained Executive Achievement in 2009. February 27, 2017 – The Music Business Association (Music Biz) is proud to present its prestigious Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award to award-winning choreographer and performer, multi-Platinum recording artist, and beloved television personality Paula Abdul. February 24, 2017 – YouTube & Google Play’s Gwen Shen Joins Music Biz Board
Music Biz is pleased to welcome YouTube and Google Play’s Head of Music Label Partnerships (Americas), Gwen Shen, to the Board of Directors. Shen was elected to fill a seat previously held by YouTube’s Fred Beteille, who has recently joined Facebook.
