Music Business Association President James Donio has released the following statement: Music Biz is extremely saddened to learn of the passing of a true music industry legend and icon, Russ Solomon. As the founder and CEO of Tower Records, Russ was one of the primary architects of NARM in its formative years. His and Tower’s presence and influence loomed large in our Association for many decades. You always felt the love when Tower was in the room.... Read More

The Music Business Association (Music Biz) has announced that noted Washington, DC Strategist and women’s rights advocate Hilary Rosen will conduct a Keynote Interview with this year’s Harry Chapin Memorial Humanitarian Award recipient Scooter Braun at the Music Biz 2018 Conference’s Awards Luncheon on May 17th at the Omni Nashville Hotel. February 28, 2018 – Maren Morris Talks ‘The Middle’, Album No. 2 & Beyond Breaking Through With President James Donio
Last year, the Music Business Association honored singer/songwriter Maren Morris with its prestigious Breakthrough Artist Award at its Music Biz 2017 conference in Nashville. In June 2016, Morris released her debut album for Columbia Nashville, HERO, becoming the label’s first artist of the SoundScan era to top the Billboard Country chart with their first album.
