With over 320 million songs posted to the platform, the emergence of music movements on SoundCloud is common. January 9, 2023 – Music Biz Member LyricFind Promotes Roy Hennig as SVP of Sales; Nik Mcleod as VP of Publishing

Lyric licensing and data solutions company, LyricFind has promoted Roy Hennig as their new SVP of sales and Nik McLeod as VP of publishing. In 2009, Hennig joined the LyricFind team in a variety of sales roles. According to the company, Hennig’s leadership led the company to over 40% revenue growth in 2022 alone. January 9, 2023 – Music Biz Member Sony Music Provides Counseling Support Across 12 Countries

Sony Music has recently updated its Artist Forward initiative to provide additional wellbeing measures to their artists. Under the heading ‘It’s okay not to be okay,’ artists have started to make use of a free, confidential counseling service that is available in 70 languages. As part of the Artists Assistance Programme, Sony’s artists have access to professional counseling services for addressing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, family, and relationship matters and more. Independent music distributor, TuneCore has appointed Andile Mbete to be their new Head of TuneCore, Southern Africa. He will manage and build the company’s artist roster in the region and support local artists through partnership opportunities and marketing initiatives. January 6, 2023 – Music Biz Member FUGA Strikes Deal With Polyvinyl Records

B2B distributor FUGA has announced a new partnership with indie label, Polyvinyl Records. Per the agreement, FUGA will allow the label  to utilize its distribution and marketing services. Polyvinyl will also gain access to a trends and analytics platform, DSP marketing, API access and account management across their releases.
