Music tech startup, Orfium took to the stage at Music Biz & Music Ally’s NY:LON Connect 2023 summit to announce its acquisition of London-based media technology company, Soundmouse. January 17, 2023 – Music Biz Members Vevo & TikTok To Launch Weekly ‘Trending on TikTok’ Show
Video streaming platforms, Vevo and TikTok have partnered to create & program a new weekly show called “Trending on TikTok.” The show will feature music videos of the top trending songs on TikTok, alongside clips of the creators using these songs in their content. Sony Music has struck a partnership with Alamo Records’ Founder and CEO, Todd Moscowitz to launch a new artist and label services company called Santa Anna. Next-generation music company, SoundCloud has released a list highlighting top 10 music sub-genres during 2022. With over 320 million songs posted to the platform, the emergence of music movements on SoundCloud is common. January 9, 2023 – Music Biz Member Sony Music Provides Counseling Support Across 12 Countries
Sony Music has recently updated its Artist Forward initiative to provide additional wellbeing measures to their artists. Under the heading ‘It’s okay not to be okay,’ artists have started to make use of a free, confidential counseling service that is available in 70 languages. As part of the Artists Assistance Programme, Sony’s artists have access to professional counseling services for addressing stress, anxiety, depression, grief, family, and relationship matters and more.
