January 31, 2023 – Music Biz Member Viberate Reduces Music Data Platform Subscription Price
Music data analytics platform, Viberate has reduced the platform’s subscription from $129 to $9.90 per month. January 27, 2023 – Music Biz Member Sound Royalties’ Business Nearly Doubled In 2022
Based on Sound Royalties’ year-end results for 2022, the company reports that their volume of fundings to music creatives grew more than 90% last year. January 26, 2023 – Music Biz Member Spotify Adds 10,000+ New Arabic Songs Following Licensing Deal With Rotana Music
Spotify has struck a licensing deal with Middle Eastern record label, Rotana Music. Per the agreement, more than 10,000 Arabic songs will be uploaded to the music streaming platform. January 25, 2023 – Music Biz Member Warner Music Group Appoint Tim Matusch As EVP, Strategy & Operations
Robert Kyncl, the new CEO of Warner Music Group, has recruited his former YouTube colleague, Tim Matusch as WMG’s EVP of Strategy & Operations. January 24, 2023 – Music Biz Member Youtube Renews Livestream Deal With Coachella Through 2026
Video sharing platform, Youtube and AEG-owned promotor, Goldenvoice have renewed their longtime agreement to continue live streaming the Coachella festival through the year of 2026. Acts including Bad Bunny, Blackpink, and Frack Ocean will take the stage at this year’s Coachella, set to take place in-person and air live on Youtube April 14-16 and April 21-23. Apple has launched a catalog of AI-narrated audiobooks, carving out its place in the growing audiobook market. January 23, 2023 – Music Biz Member TikTok Strikes Licensing Deal With Rotana Music Group
Short form video platform, TikTok has signed a licensing deal with Saudi Arabia’s Rotana Music Group. Per the agreement, the platform now has access to Rotana’s Arab music catalog.
