February 23, 2023 – Music Biz Member Amuse Launches New Music Insights Service To Empower Artists With In-Depth Data
Global music company, Amuse has announced the launch of its new Music Insights service that provides artists with an in-depth review on the performance of their music on streaming services and user-generated content platforms. From the Amuse app, artists can easily check their stats including the number of views, likes, and shares they’ve accumulated, as well as which videos and playlists they’ve been featured on. February 23, 2023 – Music Biz Member Universal Music UK Appoints Jennifer Hills & Sarah Desmond As Co-MDs of Globe Creative Agency
Universal Music Group UK has promoted Jennifer Hills and Sarah Desmond as Co-Managing Directors of the company’s in-house creative agency, Globe. Both Desmond and Hills joined the company over 10 years ago in Sr. Director roles, and were then appointed to SVPs in 2016. Together, the pair has led campaigns with global brands for artists including Sam Fender, Florence + The Machine, Sam Smith, Paul McCartney and Rihanna. Ingrooves Music Group has signed a global distribution deal with Australia-based indie record label, Teamwrk to further push the label’s catalog of artists worldwide. February 22, 2023 – Music Biz Member Tik Tok Launches SoundOn Distribution & Marketing Service In Australia
Short-form video platform, TikTok has announced the launch of its distribution and marketing service, SoundOn in Australia. Now, Australia-based artists can use the SoundOn service to distribute their music to streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and TikTok. The service will enable users “to obtain 100% royalty for an unlimited time” on ByteDance’s various services. February 22, 2023 – Music Biz Member Qobuz Celebrates Four Years in The US
Hi-Res streaming and download service, Qobuz is celebrating its fourth year of operation in the US. The company launched the region’s first hi-res music service in 2019, and has since seen year-over-year growth in the region, with a 38% increase in US subscribers and a 17% increase in download sales in 2022 alone. February 21, 2023 – Warner Music India Acquires Major Stake In Distributor and Influencer Marketing Firm, Divo
Warner Music India has acquired a majority stake in digital media and music company, Divo. The company’s offerings include online video, music distribution, publishing, digital and influencer marketing solutions for brands, celebrities, and movies. Divo has a large following in the Tamil market in addition to the Kannada, Malayalam, and Telugu music industries, and released more than 30,000 songs in 2022. February 17, 2023 – Music Biz Members Song Sleuth And Warner Chappell Music Partner To Identify & Monetize Content On UGC Platforms
Music tech company, Song Sleuth has partnered with Warner Chappell Music to better monetize the works of its songwriters across the user-generated content (UGC) market. Per the agreement, Song Sleuth will monitor UGC platforms for instances where the more than one million musical works from the company’s songwriters are either unclaimed or not properly monetized. B2B music licensing company, Songtradr has offered £19.4 million to acquire UK B2B digital music company, 7digital. The acquisition has been agreed on by 7digital’s board, and is now set for shareholder approval. “Having closely followed 7digital’s evolution for a long time, we are delighted to have reached agreement to combine our businesses, expanding our position in the b2b music licensing and technology ecosystem,” said Paul Wiltshire, CEO of Songtradr. “We are very excited with respect to what our collective team will be able to achieve in delivering an enhanced offering for our clients and to help shape the future of music licensing.”... Syntax Creative has recruited Trish Holman as a member of its operations team, playing a critical role in the company’s financial processes. Holman has more than 30 years of experience in the music industry, beginning her career at Homeland Records in 1990. She later served 14 years as the Production Manager for Mansion Entertainment.
