Music Biz Member Janishia Jones (Fresh ‘N Sassy Productions) Launches JukeJoint Foundation To Support WOC

Janisha Jones of Music Biz member company, Fresh ‘N Sassy Productions has launched the Los Angeles-based JukeJoint Foundation, to celebrate and support women of color in the music business. The organization devotes itself to advancing equity and promoting greater inclusion of women of color in the music business.The foundation will empower its members through networking, programming initiatives, and funding. JukeJoint aims to make lasting, impactful change the industry by removing barriers that hinder the success of marginalized groups, with plans to open other chapters in New York, Atlanta and Nashville

“In a relationship-driven industry, the most significant barrier to entry is the lack of direct connections or access to the same resources of white counterparts,” said Jones. “With programming and initiatives aimed at addressing these and other specific challenges, we can make a lasting impact on the music business.”
