May 21, 2020 — As part of their efforts to bring educational content to the industry at large as it practices social distancing, the Music Business Association (Music Biz) and Record Store Day today announce that they will co-host the Couch Camp educational conference, set for Tuesday, June 2 through Friday, June 5 via Zoom. May 20, 2020 – Music Business Association Cancels Music Biz 2020 Conference, Announces Strategic Plans for Rest of 2020
May 20, 2020 — Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, the Music Business Association (Music Biz) today announced that it has cancelled its Music Biz 2020 Conference, which was set to take place August 16-19, 2020 at the JW Marriott Nashville. “The COVID-19 crisis has created conditions that we feel will not safely allow us to offer the in-person experience Music Biz Conference attendees are used to, thus we sadly announce the cancellation of our 2020 physical event,” commented Music Biz President Portia Sabin.... April 29, 2020 – Record Store Day Announces RSD Drops to Replace June 20th Event
In response to social distancing guidelines, Record Store Day has announced the RSD Drops program, ensuring extra safety when music fans purchase the limited-edition releases intended for RSD 2020 over the course of three Saturdays: August 29th, September 26th, and October 24th. Event organizers are working with artists, labels and other relevant parties to spread out the releases with a mix of genres and artists for each drop.
