December 6, 2023 – Music Biz Member BMI Receives Major Growth Investment From New Mountain Capital

Music rights management company, BMI has announced the company will be acquired by investment firm New Mountain Capital, LLC. Per the acquisition, New Mountain will fund growth investments, new ventures and technology to improve BMI’s mission to maximize distributions and the service it provides songwriters, composers and distributors. Distribution & services company, Vydia has partnered with independent distributor, AMPED and [Integral] to expand the company’s physical distribution and e-commerce services. Per the deal, AMPED will support Vydia’s operations across North America and enhance its physical releases by providing the company access to its distribution network. Music streaming service, Spotify has partnered with Google to expand its AI content recommendation capabilities. Per the partnership, Spotify will utilize Google’s AI offerings to improve the platform’s content discovery, personalized recommendations and ability to analyze listening habits across spoken word content. November 28, 2023 – Music Biz Member beatBread Launches Songwriter Advances Up To $3M, Appoints Spencer Leboff As GM

Music funding platform, beatBread has launched a new Songwriting Advance Division, allowing the company to offer songwriters advances of up to $3 million against the publishing rights on their catalog or catalog plus unreleased songs.
