Music Biz Member beatBread Launches Songwriter Advances Up To $3M, Appoints Spencer Leboff As GM

Music funding platform, beatBread has launched a new Songwriting Advance Division, allowing the company to offer songwriters advances of up to $3 million against the publishing rights on their catalog or catalog plus unreleased songs. Per the initiative, songwriters will be able to customize their advances, which are prepaid through the streaming and airplay revenues that an artist, distributor or songwriter earns. The new division will be led by Spencer Leboff, who was just brought on as the company’s General Manager. 

“We’ve seen significant success building partnerships on the artist side since we launched in 2020, and it’s already clear that there is real demand from songwriters for our offering,” said beatBread Founder & CEO, Peter Sinclair. “Spencer is an outstanding leader, and we’re excited about where this business will go, and there is much more to come.”
