Music Biz President Portia Sabin Issues Statement Regarding Passage of the CASE Act by the U.S. House of Representatives
Music Biz President Portia Sabin has issued the following statement regarding the passage of the CASE Act by the U.S. House of Representatives:
“The passage of the CASE Act by the U.S. House of Representatives is an important step towards creating an affordable option for artists to handle infringement of their copyrights. Right now, most artists and creators are shut out of having a legal option to handle infringement, but the small claims court created by the CASE Act will change that and potentially put more money into artists’ pockets. The Music Business Association applauds the work of the House in passing this vital piece of legislation, and I’m hopeful that it will also pass the Senate in short order.”
