The Music Business Association is excited to welcome Joe Belliotti, Founder of NOISGATE for ‘The Future of Brand-Artist Partnerships‘ on Wednesday, May 16 at 2:10 PM during the Music Biz 2018 conference in Nashville! Check out the fun Speaker Spotlight below to get to know Joe a little more before his Music Biz panel.
Music Biz is celebrating its 60th year in 2018. How many Association conferences have you been to and what was your greatest memory? If it’s your first — what panel/keynote/event, etc. (other than your own) are you most excited for? Check out the preliminary schedule here.
I’m very excited to see Scooter Braun at this year’s Music Biz convention. I’ve met Scooter a couple of times and seen him speak. He has a very optimistic, visionary view of music and the industry. I admire how he uses his voice, and encourages his artists to to do the same, thus spreading more good in the world. It’s hard not to be impressed by him.
If you could have front row tickets to any concert in any city at any venue — what and where would you choose?
Well this actually happened in Nashville in 2016. I was front row and center for my all time favorite musician, Cat Stevens, when he played at the iconic Ryman Auditorium.
What is your go-to playlist right now? When do you listen to it most?
My go-to playlist for new music is the BBC Radio 1 Playlist because of the awesome variety. Not every song on it becomes a No. 1 hit, but every song is worth checking out. Great curation. https://open.spotify.com/user/bbc_playlister/playlist/4ozvRrHgk23R4syZv52XNz?si=OlECfsC_Q6evbKxMNMCuEw
Music Biz recently made an announcement that its annual conference will take place in Nashville through at least 2020. What’s your favorite thing to do in Nashville? If you’ve never been, what are you most excited to do May 14 – 17?
One of my favorite things to do in Nashville is visit Third Man Records. You can’t help but feel immersed in music stepping through the doors. Seeing a show at Third Man being recorded live, which goes directly to vinyl, is a must do.
