The objective of this contest is to design a logo for Music Biz 2017, the flagship event of the Music Business Association (Music Biz), a non-profit membership organization that advances and promotes music commerce. For more information on the Association, visit musicbiz.org.
The event is returning to Nashville for the third consecutive year. After commissioning Hatch Show Print to create a custom poster to be used as the event brand for the past two years, Music Biz is seeking to create a more contemporary visual identity for 2017. The logo should employ an innovative approach to convey the status of the Music Biz conference as a nexus point for all aspects of the music business, and the vibrancy and growth of Nashville as a truly global music city.
The logo must contain the full event name, date and location: Music Biz 2017, Renaissance Nashville, May 15-18. (Note: please do not abbreviation name to MB or MB17) Additional imagery or abstracts may accompany the words, but are not required. The logo should avoid hackneyed symbols such as music notes or formats.
The logo will be used online (website, email header, mobile schedule, social media, etc.) and in high quality prints (program book, signage, etc.). Flexibility is a key requirement, including the need to resize easily with text being readable at all sizes.
There are no color limitations. Logos should be submitted as CMYK files. No spot colors please.
Entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM on August 26 at this link. Entrants will be asked to supply contact information as well as attach both a scalable vector and JPG version of the logo design.
Individuals may submit a maximum of three entries.
Logos cannot contain copyrighted material and should be original designs created and edited by the individual names on the entry form.
The winning design will be selected by Music Biz.
