Bilarys Ramírez is the Comptroller at Rimas Publishing, where she oversees the accounting, financial reporting, and royalty infrastructure of one of the leading independent music publishers in Latin music. With more than 14 years of experience in accounting and taxation, she brings extensive expertise in financial integrity, internal controls, risk management, and the complex royalty flows that support a global music publishing business.
Bilarys holds two master’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She further developed her music industry expertise through studies in Music Business Finance at Berklee Online. Her article, “Fraud Examiners Can Untangle the Notes of Music Publishing Royalties,” was published in the September/October 2025 issue of Fraud Magazine.
Currently the only woman actively working in an accounting role at a music publishing company in Puerto Rico, Bilarys is committed to increasing visibility and representation within the industry. In addition to her executive role, she serves as an Accounting Professor at AGM University, where she brings real-world industry experience into the classroom. She has also led educational sessions throughout Puerto Rico on music publishing royalties, helping students and emerging professionals better understand the accounting behind copyrights, royalty administration, and revenue generation.
Bilarys is an active member of The Recording Academy and The Latin Recording Academy and recently joined the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP). She is committed to advancing transparency, accountability, education, and representation within the music publishing industry.
