Thank you for registering for Couch Camp 2020, presented by Music Biz and Record Store Day! Here is some important information to make sure your event experience is as seamless as possible. We’ve had a lot of practice with this new virtual format, but do appreciate your patience if any unforeseen glitches do occur. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any technology questions you may have before the event takes place.
You should have received an email confirmation from Zoom which confirmed your participation in the event. The Eventbrite confirmation was simply for your payment. The reason this is a separate email from the one you are receiving now is because it is unique to you and can only come from Zoom. The sender was “Music Biz” and the subject was “Couch Camp 2020 Confirmation & Zoom Sign-On Instructions [IMPORTANT]”. Please let us know if you did not receive it and we will happily resend.
At 3 PM each day, or a little before, you’ll click the “Click Here to Join” button in that email from Zoom. We encourage you to add the calendar invite to your schedule as well as Zoom provides an easy button to do so. To get into the webinar, you’ll also need to enter the special password – MBXRSD.
HERE is a link to the schedule of events each day. Please note we are still reworking the schedule due to no longer having any programming on Tuesday. We plan to shift Tuesday’s programming to Friday as best as we can. Keep your eyes on the link above for the final schedule.
The conference will begin each day at 3 PM EST with a general webinar session. You will receive instructions for attending the breakout roundtables during the general webinar session so it’s important you log on during that 3 PM EST session. One-on-one meetings are scheduled completely separate and you will receive correspondence about this portion of the event from email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note that ONLY independent record stores will be able to participate in the one-on-one speed dating sessions. Other attendees who registered can ONLY join the 3 PM webinar session each day and 4 PM breakout sessions, and will not be admitted into the other sessions unless you have been contacted separately to participate.
3PM EST Each Day
These sessions will kick off the first three days of the conference and will be in Zoom “webinar” format meaning only the speakers will be on video and campers will be able to ask questions in the Q&A and chat feature.
Immediately Following the General Session Each Day
There will be four of these per day happening simultaneously so you will need to choose which ones you’d like to attend ahead of time by looking at the schedule HERE. These will be “meeting” format so we encourage you all to give access to your video camera to participate. These will be intimate and have limited capacity. Should you wish to ask a question, please press the “raise your hand” button or type in the chat.
Starting at 5PM EST Each Day
Everyone participating in these will receive a separate email from email@example.com. There is the possibility of four sessions in the hour and it is important to know that you MUST be in the room 5 minutes before your scheduled meeting:
As you can see, you must be in the room 5 minutes before each meeting. This will be critical to the easy virtual flow of this event. Reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org about this.
Campers can “zoom” in and out of the main room as needed, but label / distribution meeting participants must stay the entire time.
