Music Fights Fraud Alliance Is Hiring — Executive Director
The Music Fights Fraud Alliance is a global task force aimed at eradicating streaming fraud. We represent, for the first time, all corners of the music industry aligning as a united front to combat fraud in music streaming. Our mission is to ensure that the global music streaming market is fair and that all members actively contribute to solutions intended to balance the equity of its operations. As an alliance, our members hope to detect, prevent, mitigate, and enforce anti-fraud measures, thereby moving closer to an industry where fraud has no place.
The Executive Director will lead the transition of the Music Fights Fraud Alliance into a legally recognized 501(c)(6) nonprofit entity, work with the board to determine how the mission will be accomplished, and oversee ongoing business operations and administration. The Executive Director is intended to be an industry leader in anti-fraud efforts, and a representative for all industry interests related to anti-fraud efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Vision and implementation of the mission statement. Work with board members to achieve goals of the organization
- Oversee business operations. Establish MFFA as a 501(c) (6) nonprofit organization, create and manage budget, develop and implement organization bylaws and governing documents, handle organization’s external communications, hire and fire staff as needed
- Manage membership. Point of contact for current members, work with board to identify and onboard new members, Executive Committee administration, task force support, membership renewals, meeting scheduling
- NCFTA Liaison – contract negotiation and renewal, attend listserv meetings, update NCFTA on new listserv participants
Job Requirements:
- Music Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the music industry and relationships across multiple sectors. Familiarity with the digital music ecosystem, including streaming services, royalties, data analytics, and the impact of fraud on industry stakeholders.
- Project Management: Detail oriented, able to get projects off the ground and demonstrated ability to complete projects.
- Leadership and Strategic Planning: Strong leadership skills with experience in leading cross-functional teams and developing long-term strategic goals. Ability to set clear objectives, drive accountability, and achieve organizational milestones.
- Relationship Management and Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry leaders, board members, legal counsel, government bodies, and other relevant organizations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling reports, presentations, and external communications. Proficient in representing the organization to external partners, the media, and government agencies.
- Fundraising and Revenue Generation: Experience with fundraising strategies, sponsorship acquisition, and revenue generation for nonprofit organizations. Ability to secure new funding opportunities to support the mission and growth of MFFA.
- Experience with Anti-Fraud Programs: Prior involvement with anti-fraud initiatives or organizations focused on the prevention and enforcement of fraudulent practices in the digital space.
- Global Perspective: International experience or familiarity with global music markets and anti-fraud measures in different regions.
- Legal and Regulatory Expertise: A working knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices related to digital rights management, streaming, and fraud prevention.
Education: Degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Music Industry, Nonprofit Management, or Law preferred
