Music Business Association Launches Music Biz 2025 Agenda
Four-day schedule features talks covering AI, music fraud, supporting our workforce and beyond
February 4th, 2025 — The Music Business Association (Music Biz) today shares a first look at the agenda for Music Biz 2025, taking place May 12th – 15th at the Renaissance Atlanta Waverly. As the organization brings its 2025 Annual Conference to Atlanta for the first time, the four-day agenda features a blend of fan-favorite annual summits, all-new programs covering the most timely trends affecting the industry today, and nightly networking opportunities & live music showcases.
The interactive four-day schedule can be accessed here. Those looking to attend the event can visit musicbiz2025.com to register, access discounted hotel rooms & flights, meet the variety of companies supporting this year’s event, view remaining sponsor opportunities, and more.
This year’s Music Biz schedule will debut special events including a First Timers’ Meetup on Monday, May 12th, giving new attendees the chance to meet the Music Biz staff & Board of Directors, learn how to make the most of their conference experience, and connect with one another over cocktails. Monday’s program will conclude with the Welcome Bash party sponsored by Spotify. The new State of The Industry breakfast & program on Tuesday, May 13th will feature commentary on current global consumption & trend data, and discussions with leading music policy makers on our industry’s present & future outlook. Music Biz will also premiere multi-panel blocks including “Humans of Music: Supporting the Needs of Our Industry’s Workforce” and the “Workflow Workshop: How We Do What We Do & How We Can Do It Better,” both geared towards improving the ways our industry operates while addressing the needs of those who work in music.
Music Biz 2025 sees the return of the full-day Music Biz Roadshow event on May 12th, programmed with input from The Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC) and Made In Memphis Entertainment (MIME) to specifically help artists & their teams learn the fundamentals of the business and how to maximize every available revenue stream. Tech & startup professionals will benefit from attending “Startup Lab: A Bootcamp For New Music Ventures” on May 12th, the Startup Round Robin sessions on May 13th, and the OpenPlay x Music Biz Hackathon on May 15th. Elsewhere on the schedule, attendees will enjoy refreshed editions of staple events including the independent retail-minded Let’s Talk Physical summit presented by Memphis Record Pressing, the Music Security Summit sponsored by Beatdapp, the Publishing Summit sponsored by EMPIRE, the Music & Money track sponsored by Sound Royalties, the Indie Label Summit sponsored by Nettwerk Music Group, and special roundtable discussion blocks.
“The task of building a comprehensive, four-day program for our Annual Conference becomes harder and harder every year thanks to the innovative and compelling panel ideas contributed by our ever-growing global community — it’s a good problem to have!” said Music Biz President, Portia Sabin. “We’re proud of how the agenda for Music Biz 2025 came together, and we can’t wait to welcome both new & returning faces to our event in this year’s new host city.”
After a decade of hosting the Music Biz Conference in Nashville, Music Biz 2025 sees the Association move back to a rotating host city model in the interest of bringing its community of global music professionals to new industry hubs across the country. This move was in part inspired by its ongoing Music Biz Roadshow event series, which since 2022 has connected music industry professionals & companies with artist communities in music cities including Portland, Huntsville, Dallas, Chicago, New Orleans, Memphis and Chattanooga.
Music Biz 2025 is also home to the fourth annual Bizzy Awards dinner sponsored by Warner Music Group, set for the evening of Wednesday, May 14th. Music Biz previously announced that it will posthumously honor Cindy Charles with the 2025 Presidential Award for Outstanding Executive Achievement in celebration of her life & professional legacy, and that Digital Data Exchange (DDEX) will receive its 2025 Impact Award for Technological Excellence. Finalists for the seven crowd-nominated Bizzy Award categories will be revealed in late February, and winners will be crowned during the May 14th ceremony.
