Music Biz Member Universal Music Group Appoints Michelle Teh As SVP, Global Classics & Jazz

Universal Music Group has appointed Michelle Teh as the company’s new SVP for its Global Classics and Jazz division. With more than 20 years of industry experience, Teh has worked on international marketing campaigns for numerous artists including Andrea Bocelli, Ólafur Arnalds, Alice Sara Ott, Billie Eilish, Sam Smith and The Weeknd. Prior to joining UMG, she started her career in Hong Kong where she worked across nine Asia-Pacific music markets before moving to Singapore to work on Formula One Racing’s inaugural F1 ROCKS Live Music broadcast event, a partnership with UMG. In 2012, Teh joined UMG where she steadily rose to her former role as VP, Global Priorities in 2019. In addition to her role, she took on additional responsibilities working with Disney Music Group and led on Lin Manuel Miranda’s GRAMMY Award winning film soundtrack for the animated musical, Encanto. Teh’s recruitment was announced by UMG Global Classics & Jazz/Verve Label Group President and CEO, Dickon Stainer.
