Music streaming platform, SoundCloud has appointed Eliah Seton as the company’s new CEO, succeeding outgoing CEO Micheal Weissman. In 2021, Seton joined SoundCloud as President, where he oversaw the Creator and Roster operating divisions in addition to strategy, M&A, content partnerships, business development, distribution and artist partnerships. According to the company, as President he was, “…instrumental in refocusing the business on deepening the relationship between its artists and fans through new economic models, products and tools.”
“I have served on SoundCloud’s board for more than a decade and can honestly say that I have never been more excited about the direction and leadership of the company,” said Fred Wilson, Founder of Union Square Ventures and SoundCloud board member. “Eliah’s passion for the business of music, relationships and vision are exactly what is needed for the next phase of SoundCloud’s growth.”
