Music Biz Member Point Park University Is Hiring — Asst. Professor – Sports, Arts and Entertainment (SAEM)

The Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management (SAEM) department of the Rowland School of Business at Point Park University seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor; appointment to begin August 2022.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong commitment to live entertainment including the focus areas of sports, arts and music and teaching excellence. Teaching responsibilities will include courses in basic business subjects including introductory courses to sports, arts and entertainment along with event management. Additional responsibilities may include student organization advising, mentoring students, curriculum development and professional outreach. Terminal degree or equivalent professional experience required; MBA from an accredited institution preferred.

The Sports, Arts and Entertainment Management department serves close to 300 majors and takes advantage of Pittsburgh’s dynamic urban environment with shadowing, internships and jobs at world-class venues large and small just steps away from campus. Our student run Pioneer Records partnerships with Red Caiman Media studios and Stage AE, our programming in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Playhouse and our hands-on activities with the local professional sports teams underscores our commitment to experiential teaching in a real-world setting.
