400B+ On-Demand Streams Speaks for Itself as Vinyl Keeps Momentum for 12th Year

Music Business Association President James Donio released the following statement regarding the release on Friday, July 6 of Nielsen Music’s Mid-Year Report:

“As we reach the half-way point of 2018, streaming continues to flex its muscles as it keeps powering the music business to renewed strength and vitality, with overall album equivalent consumption rising by 18%. The striking impact of a record-breaking 400 billion+ on-demand streams speaks for itself. But it’s also  impressive to see vinyl LP sales keeping up the increasing YOY momentum for a twelfth year in a row.”
