Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Annual Music Biz Conference, hosted by the Music Business Association. Volunteering is a great way to network while also gaining professional experience and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the conference.
More than 60 volunteers are needed each year to help make our event a success. As we review applications, preference is given to full-time students enrolled in music business or hospitality programs, or to industry professionals who are seeking employment within the music business. All volunteers must be 21 years of age or older.
Volunteers must be available from Monday, May 13th through Thursday, May 16th. They may be asked to report to the JW Marriott by 8 AM CT and asked to stay as late as 6 PM CT, depending on each day’s programmed events and their volunteer position. Volunteers must also be available starting at 5 PM on Sunday, May 12th for a pre-event walkthrough.
Priority selection will be given to volunteers who are available for the entire conference. Those who are not available all four days will be selected on a case-by-case basis.
Volunteers assist and support the following key areas of the conference:
Speakers’ Greenroom Assistant
This person is responsible for checking in speakers at the entrance of the greenroom, directing them to their programming rooms, and ensuring the greenroom is clean & presentable. This space is intended ONLY as a meeting place for panelists to gather on the day of their panel, roughly forty-five minutes to an hour before the start of their session.
Session Room Attendant
This person is responsible for tending to our programming rooms. They will welcome attendees and speakers as they enter programming rooms, keep time for our panel moderators, add new water bottles to the front of the room in-between sessions, assist with audience Q&A, sanitize microphones in-between sessions, and tend to the general upkeep of the room.
Sponsor Support
This person will be connected directly with one of our sponsors and will assist with their booth needs.
Registration Assistant
This person is responsible for welcoming attendees to the event, assisting with the check-in & badge printing process, and answering attendee questions about the event. Other duties may be assigned directly by the Music Business Association’s Membership & Events Manager.
Greeter & Event Guide
This person will greet attendees as they enter the hotel rotunda and other common areas, and be available to answer attendee questions and direct them around the hotel as needed.
